Welcome to the USAID Workshop
for Practitioners on Tax and Pension Reform

USAID's Bureau for Economic Growth, Agriculture, and Trade (EGAT), Office of Economic Growth, hosted a workshop for USAID officers and tax and pension experts on June 27–29, 2005, in Washington, DC.

The purpose of the workshop was to reexamine key goals and challenges facing programs involved in the reform of tax policy/administration and of pension systems in developing and transition countries.

What have been the results for host countries?
>
What have we learned from past experience about best practices for the design and implementation of such reforms?

The workshop brought together for three days some of the leading experts and thoughtful critics in these fields—from the World Bank, other international organizations, and USAID project implementation teams.

The workshop was held at the World Bank headquarters building and was organized by Development Alternatives Incorporated (DAI) and its USAID Fiscal Reform Project team.
